What Are
You For?

Judgment, trust, and learning in the age of AI

AI can now write, paint, diagnose, argue, and decide. It does some of these things better than most humans. Six cases. Six domains. One question that doesn't go away.

One sentence — your actual position.
Six cases. Six domains. One question remaining.

If a machine can do most things you can do —
what remains worth becoming?

Not: what are AI's limits. That question has a technical answer.
This one doesn't.

Your record across six cases
For the room
Look at where people disagreed. Which case produced the most different answers? Why that one?
Is "AI can do it better" the same as "AI should do it"? What's the distinction?
If the things you're best at can be replicated by a machine, does that change what you think education is for?
Case 5 asks: what did you contribute that mattered? Not what AI couldn't generate — AI can generate almost anything. Ask the room to answer that question about something they've actually made with AI. Where does their judgment change the work? Where does it not?
The closing question — what did people write? The instrument ends on: what remains worth becoming? That question has no answer the AI can generate for them.
